The City

A notable European business district with a varied economy, Manchester has been voted as the most vibrant city nationally in recent surveys, and the top UK destination to locate a company’s headquarters.

With these endorsements, it’s unsurprising that the city has attracted numerous impressive developments in recent years. From the ambitious and expansive Metrolink, connecting each end of the city and its suburbs with six lines and 77 stops, to the enviable MediaCityUK.

Manchester is undoubtedly setting the pace for its neighbours and beyond. Also boasting not only some of the coolest bars and world-class shopping areas, but housing over 350,000 students, making it the biggest population of its kind in the UK. And with a cache of facts like these, its little wonder that 51% of Manchester’s population live within the city centre, and that resident figures are expected to grow by 80,000 in the next decade and a half.

Alto is as extraordinary and original as the urban environment it belongs to. Its prime location sets it within the hub of the city, situated just minutes away from the £1.5bn Spinningfields development, and within walking distance to Deansgate and the historic and lively area of Castlefield.

Charming, arresting and ever-present.  Be part of the Manchester buzz, at Alto.

Shop till you drop

Considered as one of the best shopping experiences outside of London, Manchester brings together a blend of up-to-the-minute designer brands right through to credible independent stores.

Fashion gurus can find a little piece of retail heaven at the luxury designer shops lining King Street, while the Arndale offers a full array of high-street stores for the ultimate savvy shopper.  Venture a little further into the city and you’ll be rewarded with a collection of one-off stores located in the buzzing Northern Quarter.

Dining with a difference

From fine dining experiences, to perhaps the best burgers this side of the States, there’s something to tickle every taste bud in Manchester.

The impressive selection of high end restaurants include Michael Caine at Abode, Simon Rogan at The French and Aiden Byrne at Manchester House. While the more established and equally delectable eateries range from Argentinian steakhouse, Gaucho, Rio Ferdinand’s Italian, Rosso, right through to supreme Thai dining at Chaophraya. For those itches that need to be scratched, undeniably cool joints like Almost Famous Burger or Bluu Bar hit that spot.

From Alto, a trip across the road brings you to Spinningfields, an area bursting with the best bars in Manchester, from fine ales at The Oast House, to a mind-boggling array of cocktails at The Alchemist.

Right here, right now

It’s easy to hop from one hotspot to another from Alto’s prime location. Not only is it in proximity to the city centre ring road providing direct access to the major motorways, it is also within a 2-minute walk to Salford Station, and just a 15-minute walk to the city’s Metrolink.

The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University are both easily accessible, as are the city’s schools and colleges. Key destinations such as Spinningfields and Deansgate are within reaching distance, each boasting an array of city hotspots and shops including Harvey Nichols and Selfridges. Equally, unrivalled transport links are close at hand. This proximity to a combination of the city’s fundamental amenities offer residents an unparalleled opportunity to be at the heart of the city and benefit from all it has to offer.
